Sunday Afternoon

We had a fun filled Sunday afternoon today! I gave extra wrapping paper scraps to the kids and let them have at it! Callie wrapped various household items such as a pacifier, remote control, and a Barbie doll. Drew crumbled and crinkled the paper, then took a taste! Then, while Drew napped, Callie and I made our very first batch of gingerbread men. Well, at least my very first batch. She made them at school this week, so she taught me how! Boy, I didn't know sticky gingerbread dough was! It took forever to get a few of those boogers rolled out with all of their limbs still attached after transferring to the cookie sheet! They may not be supermarket beauties, but they are beautiful to us! We had a blast and made some great memories making them!

Christmas Card Time

Even though I haven't made any Thanksgiving posts yet, here are some pics from our Christmas card photo shoot! Of course, I settled on the first one of both babies smiling in front of the Christmas tree. Yes, I know it's early, but my tree is, indeed, up. I'm a teacher, what can I say? This is Thanksgiving break, so I take advantage of the time I have at home. Anyhow, we had a blast (well, they did) taking Christmas card pics. It sure is different trying to get two to stay still at the same time! Can you tell which pic was at the tail end of the shoot? C'mon, the pouty faces will give it away!

Happy Halloween

Callie, Drew, and cousin Paige had a great time at the Pumpkin Patch Party at Emmanuel last night! Callie and Paige enjoyed playing games in the gym and chowing down on popcorn. Drew had a blast just watching everyone. Callie insisted on being the Mariposa Barbie fairy this year, which was great because we already had the costume. All I had to do was get her some tights and a long sleeved shirt to wear underneath. And, of course, the shoes! Check 'em out! She wore this all day! She wore it out to eat for lunch, shopping at Kohl's, to Grandmommy's, and finally to the church. Drew is a cute little dinosaur, cuddly and warm. Paige is an angel. What a trio!

A Haircut Already

At seven months old, Nanna gave Drew his first haircut. A little hesitant about him being so young, I went ahead and agreed. If you've seen his before shots, you understand why. "A little Don King" is not what you want your sweet little boy referred to!

Drew, 6 months

Drew is now 17 lbs (I think the scale was off!! He weighs 20 on my scales!!) He is 27 inches long and growing like a weed! His favorite thing to do is having scream matches with Callie to see who can get the loudest. He laughs so hard and so loud, I can't believe it's coming from a six month old baby!

Callie's 1st Concert

Last week Callie, Jenny, Nanna, and I went to the Taylor Swift concert in Bossier City, LA. This was Callie's first concert and she rocked it!! Her favorite singer in the world is Taylor Swift. She loves Kellie Pickler too! Taylor, Kellie, and Gloriana performed. Callie stayed awake the entire time! She may have acted a little tired toward the end, but her feet were kicking away to the beat! We spent the night in Shreveport that night and came home the next morning! Callie will never forget her first concert!

School Girl!!

Callie is now in 4 year old pre-K!! She had wonderfully adapted to being a school girl. She may not enjoy getting up so early each morning, but when she realizes it is for school, she rushes to get her uniform, backpack, and lunch ready to go! She loves to sing, paint, play, write, learn, and all the other cool stuff preschoolers get to do! When she gets home in the afternoons, she wants to play school all night! Being a teacher, that's not what I want to do all night, but she loves it! So big!!

Hot Springs Vacation

This is a slideshow of pics from what is becoming our annual trip to Hot Springs. Andy's parents and our two nephews went with us. We had a blast at the Mid America Science Museum (slideshow). We also went to the wax museum and winery. The kids enjoyed grape juice there! We pulled campers and stayed at the KOA campground, where the kids absolutely loved swimming in the pool and feeding the ducks at the duck pond. Drew is definitely becoming a happy "camper" too! He was a great traveler and loved being in his stroller and watching everyone and everything. We love camping!

Drew Update

Andrew Alan now weighs 14.5 lbs! He is 26 inches in length. He is trying out new foods and loves oatmeal, rice cereal, and squash! Squash was Callie and Drew's first foods! That's what he's eating in the picture above. He is developing such as unique little personality and loves to be vocal! Callie is growing up before my eyes as well, her vocabulary doubling by the day! She is totally into music and movies right now. Callie and Drew are looking more alike everyday (pic above).

Mommy's Birthday

I turned 28 on Thursday, and was treated like a queen. Andy, Callie, and Drew made me cupcakes and grilled steak for my birthday! I couldn't believe my own eyes so I took these pictures to document the occasion. Andy has never baked anything before. His culinary experiences surround grilling and frying fish or deer steak. Callie loved helping, and Drew loved watching as you see in the pictures. I'm not sure what was going on with Drew's hair though!! I should have gotten pictures to prove what happened after we ate supper. Andy cleaned the kitchen!! I went in the kitchen expecting to clean a messier than usual room, but it was spotless! It was definitely a birthday to remember!

Bath Time is the Best Time

Drew is now a little older than 3 months and weighs a whopping 14 pounds! He's getting that chubby look with the little creases in his legs and pot belly. Not to mention those chubby cheeks! It's so different than Callie. She was always (and still is) so petite and dainty. He loves to get a bath, so I took some cute little pics for you all to enjoy! God has blessed Andy and I with the best behaved children. We thought we had it made with Callie and how good she was as a baby, and then Drew came along. He doesn't cry unless he's hungry or dirty. He constantly laughs, smiles, and coos. He loves his big sister and is completely satisfied with his little life! I just hope these well behaved babies are an indicator of what childhood (and eek, teenage) behavior lies ahead!

Camping Trip

The below slideshow is from our latest camping trip. We enjoyed a HOT weekend at the Poverty Point State Park in Delhi, LA.

She's Having Puppies!

Here lately Callie has been very imaginative lately, playing all sorts of new games. Her latest imaginary game that she likes to play is having puppies. She will go into my room, lie on my bed, and remain quiet and still for up to 30 minutes at a time. At first I thought she was napping. Then when I realized she was wide awake, I thought she may feel ill. Then I just asked her, and her response was, "I'm getting my rest because I'm having puppies." She'll lie there rubbing her belly and taking care of her imaginary puppies. "Do you want to hold one?" she'll ask. Her expressions and gestures are so convincing. It cracks me up!

Callie's 4th Birthday!!

Callie turned 4 years old on June 7th! Here are a few birthday party pics. We rented an inflatable water slide for her American Idol themed birthday party! Paige loved her American Idol party favors (see pic)! We had a blast. The children loved the slide from 2:00-4:00 p.m., but the adults had the real fun after 4:00!!! No pics of the adults made this post though...

Sleeping through the night!

At nine weeks old, Drew Alan is sleeping throughout the night at last! This happened once (but only once) two weeks ago, and now it is consistent. Also, he still has a head full of brown hair! Callie was born with the same hair, but it was all gone by ten weeks old. It looks like Drew may keep his. We'll just have to wait and see!

If you've ever heard the country song, "Country Girl" by Alan Jackson, you'll love Callie's version called "Crunchy Girl

I'm a Crunchy Girl

If you've ever heard the country song "I'm a Country Boy" by Alan Jackson, you'll enjoy this video of Callie's version, "I'm a Crunchy Girl." It's so much more enjoyable if you've heard Alan Jackson's version first. Callie told me that she was going to grow up and move to Hollywood to sing and live with Taylor Swift so everyone would know her name!

11 pounds and growing!

We just made it back from our 2 month check up and shots. Drew did extremely well with the shots. Of course, he let out a pitiful cry at injection, but it was over and he was in mommy's arms in a flash. Then he went right back to smiling. The biggest shocker was that he is now 11 pounds! Daddy and I had a bet going about his weight, and we both lost! Both of us were way under.

The sad part of the day was filling out Callie's pre-K registration. I'm happy that she will be going to school next year, but sad that she is growing up so fast. It's going to be super weird seeing her in uniforms instead of the frilly little dresses that she is obsessed with right now!

Paige's 2nd Birthday Party

My niece, Paige, turned 2 this week! This was Drew's first birthday party to attend, and he slept through it all. As you'll see in the slideshow, Callie had enough fun for the both of them, as did everyone else! Callie is ready to have her birthday party now, and has selected American Idol to be her party theme! Look for those pics in June!

Callie and Drew's Baby Pics

I found myself taking a walk down memory lane browsing through Callie's baby albums and found that they strikingly resemble each other! Check out the slideshow comparing and contrasting the two newborn angels!

Drew Update

He is still eating and sleeping well. Not many changes except for that he is smiling more and more each day. He smiles at Callie more than anything! He's yet to sleep all the way through the night, but when he sleeps in five hour stretches with only bottle at the wee hours of the morning, I'm fine with that!!

Some Callie attention...
